Who is Facilities Management Systems?

Facilities Management Systems (FMS) is a company of The Nutrition Group which operates the Custodial and Maintenance Management. FMS has been operating since 1986.

About the Job

FMS has an open position of Custodial Supervisor at a local K‑12 School District. Duties will include:

• Leadership and supervision of custodial staff
• Monitoring of supplies/equipment
• Safety awareness/training
• Daily communications with school directors and/or administration.
• Daily cleaning of hallways, classrooms, cafeteria, offices, gymnasium, and restrooms
• Trash removal
• Seasonal snow removal and salt/ice melting application is required
• Adherence of proper chemical handling procedures
• Examining the school buildings on a regular basis for need of repairs and cleaning and establishing and recommending cleaning/summer projects schedule.
• Fill in for custodian during staffing shortage or emergency only if needed.
• Making recommendations of supplies and minor equipment purchases
• Consulting with district administrators regarding the establishment of regular Custodial and Maintenance Programs
• Meeting regularly with District Administrators and Building Principals
• Seeing that answers are provided for complaints and inquiries from parents , students and staff concerning custodial and maintenance services
• Notifying the Superintendent of hazardous weather conditions for possible delay, closing or early dismissal of schools
• Recommending progressive discipline for staff performance or policy violation issues
• Prepare weekly progress reports, monthly board reports and building inspection reports as per FMS guidelines
• Performing such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the FMS Regional Manager
• Performing custodial area inspections
• Interviewing, hiring, and training custodial personnel
• Collecting time cards and processing payroll, including setting up and tracking overtime for events and managing overtime effectively to minimize cost were possible
• Evaluating and disciplining staff

Qualifications:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must obtain clearances and pass criminal background check
• Ability to read labels to ensure proper chemical usage
• Ability to lift 40 Lbs.
• Ability to comply with basic safety policies and practices.
• Ability to manage personnel properly and efficiently.
• 4 years experience
