Job Overview
Prepare and clean municipal aquatic facilities. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: litter control around the facility area, restroom cleaning, chemical checks, system maintenance and keeping general areas around the facility clean and presentable at all times. The position reports to the Aquatics Coordinator and Assistant Aquatics Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and clean the three municipal splash pads.
- Perform opening and closing checks daily.
- Clean splash pad area, amenities area, and restrooms.
- Perform minor repairs and report major repairs and potential safety hazards.
- Perform necessary daily or weekly pump house maintenance and keep it neat and clean.
- Check all amenities and keep them in good condition.
- Conduct water chemistry checks and record findings; test water chemistry and record measurements.
- Transport chemicals and other supplies between splash pads if needed.
- Tour each facility daily to check for safety issues or hazards and report them to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain chemicals and supplies needed for cleaning and preparation; follow all safety guidelines for handling chemicals.
- Maintain equipment used in cleaning and preparation.
- Provide accurate maintenance reports and log all work done on each facility.
- Deep clean each facility at least once a week depending on need; spot clean each day.
- Maintain records and submit any required reports to the supervisor.
- Enforce facility rules to the public when necessary.
- Perform related duties as required.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid current driver’s license.
- Physical exam required.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and methods used in aquatic maintenance.
- Basic understanding of water chemistry levels and how to test levels.
- Basic understanding of aquatic circulation systems.
- Learn and follow aquatic facility safety procedures.
- Follow and complete daily task lists.
- Maintain written records.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Continuously stand and walk during the shift.
- Frequently bend and kneel.
- Continuously lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Frequently push and pull objects to clean pool.
- Frequently flex upper trunk forward and at the waist and partially flex knees.
- Occasionally rotate upper trunk to the right or left or forward while sitting or standing.
- Place arms above, at or below shoulder height.
- Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement to operate a vehicle.
