The Custodian is responsible for performing custodial duties for the facility to ensure a clean and safe work environment for staff and visitors.

• Sweeps, mops, washes, polishes, vacuums, and sanitizes walls, floors, ceilings, and windows.
• Cleans and maintains lobby, conference room, and offices; cleans lunchroom, water coolers and refrigerators; cleans lockers; cleans and sanitizes restrooms.
• Replenishes supplies and materials in rest rooms and lunchrooms; notifies appropriate personnel of needed repairs, faulty equipment, and supplies.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning.
• Handles recycling materials.
• Assists in setting tables, chairs, and other equipment for events, as needed.
• Maintains the housekeeping storage room in a neat and organized fashion.
• Adheres to OSHA standards regarding the proper use of chemicals and equipment involved in custodial tasks.
• Is proficient in all safety and housekeeping requirements.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED preferred. 0 to 1 year of related experience or training.

• Must frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, controls, and reach with hands and arms; push and pull; and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must wear and use proper PPE at all times.

• Must occasionally work overtime and weekends as well as some irregular hours.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; dust, fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold and extreme heat.
• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
