- Prunes and ties raspberry plants. 4 main steps for this process.
- Clean. Using a sickle knife, clean all suckers that are on the side of the hill and any canes not tall enough to tie
- Prune:
Using loppers prune out old canes - Remove old canes:
Using sickle knife, cut twine and pull out old, fruited canes - Tie up next year’s canes:
Using twine and ring knife, tie next year’s canes to the top wire
- Do not cut the good canes.
- If there is no plant to prune but there are good canes coming, be sure not to cut those good canes when you do the cleaning.
- Never cut the irrigation lines.
- When removing the canes, do not break too many canes. Remove the canes and put the canes in the middle of the rows so that they can be mulched; do not put them in large piles on one side.
- Tie the canes up evenly, if there is a gap and there are no new plants, extend the canes to fill that area.
- Arc the canes evenly do not break the canes when tying into the arch.

No los coloque en pilas grandes de un lado. - Ate las cañas de manera uniforme, si hay un espacio y no hay plantas nuevas, extienda las cañas para llenar esa área.
- Arquee las cañas de manera uniforme, no rompa las cañas al atarlos en el arco.
