Job Summary

Responsible for permanently joining metal parts using high heat application to form a permanent bond. May specialize in one of hundreds of different processes of welding to join metals together. Will use automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

* Hand welds various fittings to different sizes of pipes and welding joints.

* Interprets application job sheets and various sizes of welding fittings.

* Analyzes all welds to ensure they are free of porosity and discontinuities.

* Ensures all welds are visibly stamped or identified with markings to designate that welds were performed by a certified welder.

* Reviews the order ticket and determines whether the work to be performed meets the customer's specifications.

* Verifies the final product meets quality control standards.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

* Certified pressure pipe welder

* Experience in full pen welds and pipe fitting welds

* Ability to qualify and maintain all shop weld procedures

* Familiarity with API 1104 or ASME Section IX.

* HS Diploma or GED, strongly preferred.

* 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.

* Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

* Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs in a physical environment.

Pay: $20.20 - $28.85 per hour.
