Position Overview

As a Security Team Member, you are the frontline guardian of our guest experience. You ensure a safe, high‑vibe, and welcoming environment by staying alert, maintaining a visible presence, and responding to needs with a balance of authority and empathy.

What You’ll Do:
  • Maintain Site Safety:
    Conduct proactive patrols of property grounds and monitor entry/exit points, including performing thorough, professional bag checks.
  • Enforce Safety Standards:
    Guide guests in following venue policies—including ride restrictions and food/beverage rules—to ensure a secure environment for everyone.
  • Master Crowd Flow & De‑escalation:
    Monitor high‑traffic areas and utilize professional de‑escalation techniques to resolve conflicts or handle rule violations calmly.
Basic Qualifications And Skills
  • Effective communication skills to convey information clearly and courteously.
  • Strong service orientation by actively seeking ways to assist guests.
  • Active listening skills, including giving full attention, understanding points made, and asking appropriate questions.
  • Social perceptiveness to be aware of others’ reactions and understand their causes.
  • Basic computer literacy to operate security systems and write incident reports.
  • Time management and supervisory skills to manage one’s own time and assist in overseeing others.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and embody the CELTS Spirit.
Desired Qualifications And Skills
  • Post‑secondary education in a Law or Security program, or previous experience in a similar or related field.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to organize work, plan activities, and set priorities effectively.
  • A friendly and pleasant personality demonstrating maturity and sound judgment.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR Certification.
Even Better If You Have:
  • Ability to speak a second language.
  • Security experience in an amusement park or waterpark setting.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather, including heat and humidity.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and sometimes in isolation.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and strong problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) issued by the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
