Position
Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
- Reads work orders or receives instructions from supervisor(s) to determine work requirements;
- Mixes/ color matches paints, stains, varnishes, and/or enamels in order to produce desired colors;
- Prepares interior and/or exterior surfaces for painting, including removal of furniture, wall hangings, covering floors and fixtures, washing surfaces, removing foreign objects (vines, nests, etc.);
- Sets up and breaks down scaffolding, ladders, and/or operates a motorized lift;
- Tapes and finishes new or existing drywall projects;
- Applies paint, shellac, varnish, enamel, stain, sealer, or other protective coatings to prepared surfaces using brush, spray, roller, cloth, or other tools;
- Finishes/refinishes wood surfaces (trim, doors, shelves, cabinets, floors) with stain or polyurethane;
- Lays out, paints, and finishes gymnasium floors and/or bleachers;
- Applies wall/ceiling finishes (stucco, spray texture, faux finishes, stenciling, etc.) and wall coverings (wallpaper, vinyl, etc.);
- Performs glasswork;
- Cleans and maintains work areas and equipment;
- Prepares sign surfaces, paints/letters, stenciles, seals, and repairs signs;
- Assists in training or supervising new employees;
- Performs any other related duties as assigned.

Appointment: Creating a pool of applicants for permanent and extra help positions
Hourly Wage: $42.40 (Prevailing Wage)

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a recognized painter apprenticeship program or four (4) years (48 months) of full‑time journey‑level painter experience.
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree‑granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). The degree must be conferred at the time of application.
