Temporary/Seasonal Part-Time Line Worker

City of Macomb, Illinois, is hiring a Temporary/Seasonal Part-Time Line Worker for Macomb City Public Transportation.

• Perform daily inspections of transit vehicles, including checking fluid levels and reporting maintenance concerns.
• Clean, fuel, wash, and prepare buses and vans to ensure they are safe and ready for daily service.
• Deep clean Demand Response vehicles as needed.
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA guidelines and agency procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist maintenance personnel and support daily transit operations.
• Report safety hazards, vehicle damage, and operational concerns promptly.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and pre‑employment drug screen.
• Previous custodial, maintenance, or transportation experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong communication skills.

• Salary: $16.29-$21.72 hourly.
