Job SummaryThis position maintains the environmental services of campus buildings and facilities. The incumbent may serve as a Lead Environmental Services Technician.
Responsibilities- Assist in coordinating day‑to‑day work assignments and ensure compliance with environmental services policies and safe work practices.
- Cleans, sanitizes, and details restrooms, refills dispensers, and stocks supplies.
- Dusts and wipes furniture and fixtures.
- Sweeps, mops, and vacuums floors.
- Empties and cleans trash receptacles.
- Cleans classrooms and laboratories.
- Loads, unloads supplies, and stocks and organizes storage areas.
- Cleans spills and broken glass.
- Moves furniture.
- Assists with setting up for special events.
- Performs environmental services‑related projects such as summer turns, stripping and rewaxing floors, and cleaning carpet.
- Reports maintenance needs to supervisor.
- Opens college‑owned vehicles and golf/utility carts to transport equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Performs related duties as needed.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Required Qualifications
- Currently hold a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia – Class
C. - May be required to work after hours, weekends, and be on‑call.
- All employees must pass a background check and motor vehicle report.
- Knowledge of the materials, equipment, and methods used in the environmental services maintenance of public buildings.
- Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of environmental services equipment.
- Knowledge of environmental services operations principles and practices.
- Skill in operating environmental services equipment.
- Skill in decision making and problem solving.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
