Overview
The Peak Season Repair Specialist role provides a pathway to full‑time employment in Safelite’s auto glass repair and replacement business. The position focuses on repairing vehicle glass using industry‑leading technology and following the Safelite Way of Fitting.
Responsibilities- Learn to repair vehicle glass (classroom and hands‑on) under the guidance of experienced technicians and Safelite leaders.
- Repair chips, cracks and other auto glass related issues on customer vehicles.
- Manage work orders, customer documentation, and customer communication through the Safelite handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
- Promote and sell Safelite promotional items to customers.
- Clean customer vehicle during wait/idle time and perform housekeeping tasks in the company vehicle and shop.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools and chemicals used throughout the workday.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
- Driving duties will be monitored via cameras, GPS, and tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license and any other required licenses.
- Completion of Safelite Safe Tech certification (required).
- Minimum age: 18 years or older.
- Lifting up to 25 lbs.; assist in lifting windshields up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend, and twist.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Professional conduct and passion for outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work outside under various weather conditions.
- Ability to work with chemicals as required.
- Flexibility with scheduled days and times.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot independently or collaboratively.
- Reading, writing, and interpreting English language and technical directions.
- Communication skills (oral and written).
- Professional appearance adhering to mandatory uniform and PPE policies.
- Willingness to maintain stable performance under pressure.
