Job SummaryThe Student Worker on the Eastman Campus is a part-time position working up to 19 hours per week. This position provides specialized support for students, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities- Clean and maintain shop area in accordance with housekeeping responsibilities such as taking out all trash, cleaning oil trays after oil changes are done with aircraft, keeping shop floors and ground equipment cleaned and serviced as necessary, and cutting open oil filters for inspection
- Washing aircraft prior to inspections
- Maintain organization of aircraft parts, checking in new parts on arrival, and putting away those parts
- Assist all mechanics with regards to 100hr, annual inspections and any non-scheduled maintenance on all aircraft as applicable such as removing and installing panels, interior components, lubricating, tire changes, cleaning and repacking wheel bearings, etc.
- Keeping consumables stocked in appropriate cabinets as those items get low such as oil, oil filters, shop towels etc.
- Assist in any other way to improve efficiency in maintaining flight schedule
- Must be a current enrolled Middle Georgia State University student.
- Must be enrolled in 6 or more semester hours per semester.
- Must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.
- Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Basic knowledge of computers and different software programs.
- Experience in an office environment is helpful.
- Must have completed at least 1 semester in the AMT program before applying.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows
- Effective oral and written communication skills; excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with everyone.
- Flexibility in working hours.
- Ability to work independently and on a team as needed.
