Overview

Road & Field Lead Tech - Textile Services at Recovery Cleaners, we specialize in restoring clothing and textiles affected by fire and floods. For over 30 years, we have been committed to helping families through some of the hardest moments in their lives with compassion, care, and unmatched expertise. We are expanding our Field Crew—the frontline team members who meet with homeowners, inventory damaged textiles, and transport them to our warehouse for restoration.

In this role you will lead the team in the field and participate in cross-training across different roles to keep the work varied and our team strong and flexible.

Compensation: $18 hourly until training completes.

Responsibilities
  • Drive to residential properties affected by fire or water damage.
  • Onsite inventory, document, and carefully pack textiles using an iPad and inventory system.
  • Transport items back to our facility in company vehicles.
  • Monitor teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and quality standards.
  • Train other road techs to provide the best service possible.
  • Handle returns and deliveries once restoration is completed.
  • Serve as a calm, kind, and professional presence for families dealing with disasters.
  • Travel across Michigan and Ohio as needed.
  • Support emergency response efforts, which can include after-hours or weekend shifts.
Qualifications
  • A clean driving record (required).
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and an illegal drug screen
    .
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when handling homeowners' personal belongings.
  • Compassionate and respectful communication skills — you will be working with people who have just experienced a major loss.
  • Comfortable with technology (iPads are used for inventory and documentation).
  • Ability to lift and carry bags of clothing and other household textiles.
  • A flexible schedule with reliable transportation to and from our warehouse.
  • Ability to be on a rotating schedule for emergency jobs that come in after hours and weekends.
  • Ability to train, coach, and mentor staff.
  • Can delegate tasks while monitoring completion of the day’s appointments in a timely manner.
