The Custodian position will safely perform janitorial duties and/or simple maintenance operations throughout the entirety of the Manitou facility, both indoors and outdoors as needed.

Available Shift – 1st Shift Monday‑Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

• Maintain a safe work environment
• Work without close supervision
• Keeps buildings and property in clean and orderly condition
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuum floors
• Gathers and empties trash
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities
• Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
• Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers prior to cleaning, according to instructions
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures
• Manages inventory of cleaning supplies
• Notifies managers regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems
• Works with coworkers politely and courteously, providing cross‑training as needed
• Works overtime as required
• Lifts up to 50 lbs independently
• Other duties as assigned

• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
• Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
• Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
• Knowledge of occupational hazard safety rules
• Good communication skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work at heights as needed

• High school diploma or GED

• Ability to work well with others and with outside vendors/suppliers

• Base Pay Range between $20 – $22 per hour plus a potential quarterly bonus based on performance metrics (actual pay determined by experience level, skills, qualifications & work location)
• This position is located in Madison, South Dakota and is onsite
• No travel required
