Field Service Technician Food Processing Equipment

We are a Chicago based service provider for the food processing and grocery industry. We are looking for an experienced technician to repair high end commercial food processing equipment. The ideal candidate should have experience as a network engineer, network administrator, IT or network support, or have a background in information technology. Additional experience as a network technician or as a computer technician may also be considered.

• Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment within the establishment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, air conditioners, etc.
• Examine mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
• Disassemble machines and repair or replace broken parts.
• Adjust functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
• Clean and lubricate parts and order replacement parts.
• Inspect completed repairs.
• Perform all work with adherence to safety procedures.
• Requisition new parts and equipment.
• Perform a variety of tasks requiring a thorough knowledge of fabrication/processing techniques, materials, tools, machines, and equipment relative to area of specialization.
• Work from engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals, or verbal instructions.
• Devise and utilize non-standard procedures.
• Construct components and parts to extremely close tolerances which have unusual or non-standard shapes.
• Work on non-standard materials.
• Assign and check work of lower level personnel.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

• Previous experience working on food processing equipment.
• Some electrical knowledge.
• Motivated attitude and presentable to customers.
• Clean driving record.
• Bilingual is a plus.
• Networking experience is a plus.

The right candidate will receive factory training.
