Floor Technician

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Floor Care Technician to maintain and care for carpeted and hard-surface flooring. Work locations may vary throughout Madison and nearby communities. At least one year of floor care experience is preferred. This position primarily works second shift but may vary based on business demands. Driving is essential; applicants must possess a valid Wisconsin Regular Driver’s License at the time of hire and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Final compensation will be determined based on the applicant’s skills, experience, and qualifications.

• Buff, strip, and wax floors using industrial buffers and scrubbers.
• Extract and shampoo carpets using industrial extractors and shampooers.
• Special clean-up as required by customers (e.g., after remodeling, construction, or building damage).
• Transport, maintain, and keep equipment clean; contact Manager for repairs.
• In sensitive areas of a customer’s plant environment, wear protective equipment such as gloves, gown, hard hat, safety glasses, respirator, etc.
• Work within the budget allotted.

• Dust surfaces including desktops, cabinet tops, partitions, picture frames, etc.
• Empty wastebaskets and recyclables; transport to designated disposal areas.
• Sweep with broom, damp/wet mop hard‑surfaces, vacuum floors using upright vacuum and/or vac paks. Other work may include scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors.
• Clean glass areas.
• Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, etc.
• Replenish bathroom supplies.
• Polish metal work such as fixtures and fittings throughout.

• Establish and maintain courteous, cooperative relations when interacting with other personnel and customers.
• Set alarms.
• Keep track of keys issued.
• Ability to use a compactor.
• Other tasks may be assigned based on customer or management discretion.

• Project floor worker experience preferred.
• Must be able to travel from customer to customer if needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to stand or walk during entire shift to accomplish tasks.
• Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in constantly changing environment.
• Able to lift and carry, push and pull 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
