Cleaning Services, Facility Maintenance, Building Maintenance, Maintenance Worker
Wisconsin Athletics is hiring a custodian to help clean and care for our sports facilities. As part of our custodial team, you will help keep areas like locker rooms, restrooms, offices, floors, training rooms, and weight rooms clean and ready for use. This job includes different cleaning tasks that may change from day to day. The work requires using cleaning tools and supplies safely and correctly.
We are looking for people who are dependable, work well with others, and take pride in keeping things clean and safe.
- Document and report repairs, violations, and pest control needs.
- Maintain clean and clear walkways free of debris, litter, snow, and ice.
- Utilize basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables.
- Monitor and secure facility interior and exterior entrances and report issues to appropriate entities.
- Organize supply areas and equipment, document inventory, and request additional supplies as needed.
- Knowledge of institutional or commercial cleaning methods, techniques, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
- General knowledge of the tools, equipment, and setups used with residential, meeting, and conference activities.
- Basic knowledge of the activities and services necessary to efficiently provide services for residential, meeting, and conference activities.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow workers and station users and guests.
- Ability to perform duties properly and efficiently under pressure of deadlines and with interruptions.
- Physical ability to perform responsibilities such as mopping, floor maintenance, operating equipment, lifting and carrying, climbing ladders, and working in winter weather conditions.
- H.S. Diploma preferred.
The starting pay is expected to be $17/hour, but may vary depending on qualifications and experience.
