Lutheran Social Services is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support safe, reliable, and welcoming environments across our healthcare and social service facilities. This on-site role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, including basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC support, and general repairs. The technician responds to work orders and emergencies, conducts routine inspections, and helps ensure compliance with safety and health regulations.

In our mission-driven, faith-based setting, you will collaborate closely with program staff to support clients and communities through dependable facility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems, equipment, and fixtures
  • Respond to maintenance work orders and emergency repair requests in a timely manner
  • Inspect facilities to identify safety, mechanical, or structural issues and recommend solutions
  • Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems within scope of role
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and inspections
  • Maintain maintenance logs, work order records, and inventory of tools and supplies
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and regulatory standards in a healthcare setting
  • Support facility readiness for inspections and accreditation requirements
  • Assist with room setups, minor renovations, and general upkeep of common areas
  • Communicate effectively with staff and residents, providing courteous, client-centered service
