Lutheran Social Services is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to keep our housing and program facilities safe, reliable, and welcoming for clients and staff. This on-site role performs routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoots and repairs basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues, and completes work orders in a timely, professional manner. You will help ensure code compliance, safety, and cleanliness while coordinating with staff and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and resident spaces
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical issues within scope of role
  • Complete work orders promptly while documenting tasks, materials, and time spent
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors as needed for specialized repairs
  • Maintain safe, clean, and code-compliant facilities that support resident comfort and care
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and on-call needs to minimize service disruption
  • Support safety, security, and infection-control standards in all maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with program and clinical staff to schedule work with minimal impact on services
