Job SummaryCustodian Lead position is a team member of the Wisconsin Union-Facilities Custodian Team. Lead worker duties that include assisting in training new employees, inspect progress and qualityof building services. Basic duties include routine maintenance and cleaning, trash removal, and snow removal. Other duties will be assigned as needed. Work is performed under the guidance of a Custodial Services Supervisor.
- -Shift hours are 3rd Shift, 10pm - 6:30pm (Union South) or 10:30pm- 7pm (Memorial Union), days of week worked will rotate. 40 hoursper week.
- -At UW-Madison
- Union South (1308 West Dayton Steet, Madison WI53705) Memorial Union. (800 Langdon Street, Madison, WI53706) - -Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors.
- -Applicants may be used for future opening also.
- Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrancesand reports issues to appropriate entities
- Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documentsinventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
- Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
- Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free ofdebris, litter, snow, and ice
- Schedules, monitors, and communicates with staff and assists with basic training
- Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assignedfacility areas and remove waste and recyclables
- Responds to facility emergency and hazardous situations, and escalates incidents according to established policies and procedures
Department: Wisconsin Union – Union South
Compensation$18.91 per hour
- -Plus an additional $2.50 per hour for night hours worked(6pm-6am).
- -Plus an additional $0.80 per hour for weekend hours worked.
- -Plus Time and a half per hour for hours worked on designated legal holidays.
- -Ability to walk, stand, lift, carry, bend, stoop and climb for the majority of the shift, including extended periods of continuous physical activities with or withoutan accommodation.
- -Ability to lift and move supplies, equipment and materialregularly up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- -Ability to remove snow and ice outside during cold weather.
-Experience working at same position for 3 months or more-Preferred
EducationHigh School Diploma preferred
