Dane County Land and Water Resources in Madison, WI has current vacancies for the Limited Term Employee (LTE) County Parks Maintenance Crew II position.
Limited Term Employees (LTEs) are limited to 1,200 hours in a payroll year and are not guaranteed any hours per week.
Note to applicants – for the 2026 budget year, there is a 1% reduction in wages. This is already reflected in the hourly wage above.
Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Everyone who has a CDL must be registered in the US Department of Transportation's Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.

DEFINITION
Under the direct supervision of the Parks Operations Manager and general supervision from the full-time crew members, perform a variety of grounds and facility maintenance tasks at Dane County Parks.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Grounds maintenance, such as mowing, string trimming, tree trimming, planting and mulching, trail maintenance and snow removal. Facility repair and maintenancesuch as cleaning, washing, painting and assisting with building repairs.
Operate and maintain commercial type mowers, trimmers,light and heavy-duty vehicles and trailers, skid-steers and larger loaders. Provide information and assistance to the public when approached in the field.
Education, Training and Experience
:
Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
Special Requirements
:
Ability to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Certifications/Licenses
:
Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Applicants requiring a CDL must pass drug/alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment has been made. Everyone who has a CDL must be registered in the US Department of Transportation's Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse. Registration is available athttps://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/register.
Completion of the Wisconsin ATV/OHM Safety Course preferred.
