Position Title: Night Lead Custodian FLSA Status: Non-Exempt FTE/

2:15 p.m.

-10:45 p.m.
Start Date: August 17th Job Summary: This position is responsible for building and grounds cleanliness and maintenance to provide a healthy and safe learning environment for students, families, and staff. This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all spaces at Mahtomedi Middle School as well as accommodating facility users in the buildings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and Maintenance:
  • Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and general cleaning of assigned areas.
  • Sanitizing and cleaning restrooms, including mirrors, wash basins, urinals, commodes, and slop sinks.
  • Performing minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs and attending to jammed locks.
  • Handling basic building repairs and troubleshooting, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, doors, and furniture.
  • Shoveling sidewalks and applying de-icer as needed.
• Event Support:
  • Setting up for athletic, school, and community events.
  • Assisting with event cleanup.
  • Cleaning specified areas after special events.
• Safety and Security:
  • Turning off lights, locking doors, and performing building checks.
• Communication and
  
  Collaboration:
  • Effectively communicating using telephone, radio, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Directing and coordinating with facility users and other staff members.
• Additional Duties:
  • Using the work order system to complete tasks.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Degree:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience:
  • Prior experience in custodial or maintenance work preferred.
• Skills:
  • Basic understanding and ability to use computers and technology; ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance.

Salary and Benefits:

• Hourly Rates:
  • Range: $19.89 - $31.19
  • Salary placement is based on experience and education level, as per district guidelines.
