Part‑Time Facilities Maintenance Technician – Southport Central School

As the Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the school building and all school grounds in a state of operational excellence. This work will require approximately 10–15 hours per week.

• Demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to complete the assigned work efficiently, as outlined in the job description.

• Operate, maintain, and adjust various types of equipment as needed.
• Maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
• Lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Fill in for custodial personnel as necessary.

• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
• Two years or equivalent experience in the maintenance/facilities field (desired).
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.

• Flexible schedule.
• Valid Maine driver’s license.
• Obtain Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).
• Fit for duty employment physical.
