BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II

Reports To:

  • Building Maintenance Coordinator
  • Director of Facilities
Work Year
  • Year‑round position - 1st Shift (7 am-3pm)
Job Goal

Under the direct supervision of the Building Maintenance Coordinator, the Building Maintenance Technician will provide safe, efficient, and fully operational physical buildings within the district. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, plumbing, electrical, security, carpentry, heating, mechanical systems, and painting.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Inspect all buildings regularly to ensure safety, security, upkeep, maintenance, and repair.
  • Complete work orders as received, prioritizing tasks based on safety, security, and potential for damage.
  • Maintain the district‑provided vehicle in good working order and ensure it remains clean and organized.
  • Communicate daily with the Building Maintenance Coordinator regarding the status of work orders.
  • Coordinate with the Building Maintenance Coordinator to identify needed supplies, parts, and services for maintenance assignments and projects.
  • Respond to alarm calls as determined by the Director of Facilities, which may include nights and weekends.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Building Maintenance Coordinator or Director of Facilities.
Qualifications
  • High school or technical school diploma.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in building or machinery maintenance, or the equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of requirements and techniques in electrical, plumbing, heating, mechanical, carpentry, and/or painting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, parents, community members, and school personnel.
