Position: Equine Care & Stable Keeper — Summer Camp (Room & Board)
Location: Spurrs Corner

Camp Arcadia is seeking a hardworking and dependable individual to join our Equestrian team in Otisfield, ME for the summer. This role is essential to the health of our horses and the safety of our riding program, ideal for someone who enjoys physical work and has a background in equine care, or enjoys being around horses. Due to housing availability, we are seeking a male for this position.

Key

Responsibilities

Equine Care: Assist with daily feeding, watering, and grooming schedules for our herd of 5 camp horses.

Stable Maintenance: Assist in maintaining clean and safe stalls, tack rooms, and paddocks; manage manure removal and hay storage.

Tack & Equipment: Ensure all saddles, bridles, and riding gear are cleaned, organized, and inspected for safety.

Support Operations: Assist the riding instructors with tacking up and leading horses for younger campers.

Community Member: While this role focuses on the equestrian facility, you will be a valued member of our seasonal staff, participating in staff meetings and community events.

What We’re Looking For

Horse Experience: Practical experience handling horses, including basic knowledge of equine health and behavior.

Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions (lifting hay bales, mucking stalls, etc.).

Reliability: A self-motivated individual who can stick to a strict early-morning feeding and care schedule.

Professionalism: A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively alongside our instructional staff.
