Position

Description:

The Parts Technician is responsible for the systematic disassembly of medical imaging systems to recover, identify, and inventory reusable components and parts. This role supports inventory availability, asset recovery, and quality control by ensuring harvested parts are properly handled, documented, and stored in compliance with company procedures and applicable regulations. Additionally, supporting shipping and receiving functions as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities :
  • Systematically disassemble medical imaging systems to recover reusable components and parts in accordance with established procedures.
  • Accurately document harvested components, including part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, and condition status.
  • Label, package, and store harvested parts properly to prevent damage, contamination, or loss.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the disassembly and harvesting process.
  • Collaborate with inventory, quality, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies and improve harvesting efficiency.
  • Report damaged, non-reusable, or non-compliant parts to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to disassembly methods, documentation accuracy, and inventory processes.
  • Report damaged, missing, or non-reusable, parts to appropriate personnel.
  • Expand knowledge of proper packing materials and methods in order to ensure that materials and products are secure during shipping and arrive damage-free at their destination.
  • Assist in part orders for both internal and external use including confirming stock, responding to requests and ensuring orders are fulfilled.
  • Pulls part order requests from stock or systems as required
  • Continually improve processes and work flow.
  • Adhere to the Company's Quality System standards and procedures and ensure that customer requirements are met.
  • Participates on an on-call rotation schedule, this includes weekends.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Some college desired
Experience
  • 3+ years hands-on experience in disassembly, or maintenance of medical imaging equipment, electronics, or mechanical systems is preferred.
  • 1+ years direct experience in shipping/receiving and transportation
  • Inventory Control experience desirable.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in the packing and shipment of medical devices
  • Demonstrated experience in carrier selection and utilization of carrier shipping software (for example, Fed Ex and UPS)
Travel
  • Valid and active driver's license
  • Must have reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance
  • Willing and able to undertake after-hours travel to carrier offices, drop-boxes, and airports
Competencies
  • High mechanical aptitude and experience with using various tools properly
  • Proficient in basic MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent verbal and written English language and communication skills with internal and external customers; understands the importance of delivering messages in a professional and responsive manner

  • Analytical, able to reason and evaluate information and make correct decisions

Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds regularly throughout the day
  • Able to lift up to 100 pounds on occasion
  • Able to stoop, sit, stand, bend, crouch and climb
  • Able to operate a forklift or to be certified to operate a forklift within 8 weeks of hire
  • Able to work in a regulated medical environment and warehouse conditions
