** Position Summary
** Are you a hands-on professional who takes pride in keeping buildings safe, functional, and well-maintained? We are seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to support our Director of Maintenance in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for our residents, visitors, and  this role, you will assist with facility repairs, preventive maintenance, grounds upkeep, and emergency response efforts. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and committed to providing excellent service in a healthcare environment.###

** Essential Duties and Responsibilities
*** Assist the Director of Maintenance with daily maintenance operations, preventive maintenance programs, and repair projects.
* Perform routine maintenance and repairs involving plumbing, mechanical systems, and basic electrical components.
* Maintain the facility, grounds, and equipment in a safe, clean, and operational condition.
* Conduct inspections and identify maintenance concerns before they become larger issues.
* Operate maintenance tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively.
* Follow all safety procedures and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Support the facility's safety initiatives and accident prevention programs.
* Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
* Assist with emergency repairs and after-hours maintenance needs as required.
* Provide coverage for the Director of Maintenance during absences.
* Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.###
** Working Conditions
*** Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
* May require working evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on operational needs.
* May require working in confined spaces and at varying heights.###
** Physical Requirements
*** Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, and reach for extended periods of time.
* Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 pounds.
* Ability to perform physically demanding tasks safely and effectively.
* Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations throughout the facility and grounds.###

* Previous maintenance experience required; healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care experience preferred.
* Knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, mechanical systems, and basic electrical repairs.
* Ability to safely operate power tools, lawn equipment, floor care equipment, and other maintenance machinery.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members.
* Reliable attendance and flexibility to support after-hours projects and emergency situations.
* Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and respond promptly when needed.
