MARC, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Worker to ensure the agency's facilities are in good repair. The Maintenance Worker completes all necessary painting, structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishing of buildings, assists with cleaning of common spaces and offices, and maintains grounds.

This is a full-time position at 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8am-4pm with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed for certain projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs general building maintenance and repairs that do not require a specialized technician including, but not limited to, painting, plumbing, changing light bulbs, light carpentry, flooring, moving furniture, minor repairs, event setup and breakdown.

Completes all necessary painting, structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishing of buildings, assists with cleaning of common spaces and offices, and maintains grounds.

Conducts regular scheduled inspections of buildings, parking lots, grounds, etc.

Works with vendors to coordinate maintenance and repair when outsourcing is necessary.

Field emergencies on calls and find temporary solutions until a permanent fix can be completed.

Performs snow removal, waste management and landscaping services as necessary.

Works with MARC staff and volunteers to provide information, advice, and recommendations tosolve problems and address facility related concerns.

Maintains equipment, furniture, lighting etc. as needed.

Maintains well organized storage areas.

Serves as a member of the Safety Committee and reports any safety issues.

Establishes and maintains positive relationships with vendors, contractors, engineers, employees, volunteers and clients.

Notify the Office Coordinator of any conditions that require attention or repair.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and some holidays as needed.

Has a general knowledge of hand tools and their application.

Ability to read and follow directions.

Has a general knowledge of power tools and assorted landscaping equipment.

Has experience in home repairs and the maintenance of residential systems.

Ability to have and use a personal vehicle.

Ability to understand and practice agency Policies and Procedures.

Ability to act quickly and remain calm in a crisis.

Ability to train and consult with individuals both internally and within the community.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Ability to organize, be flexible, work alternative hours, keep a neat work area, and work independently.

Ability to read and understand chemical labels.

Knowledge of fire drills and evacuation procedures.

Prior knowledge and experience working in maintenance.

Must be able to complete all essential job duties, minimum qualifications, and physical efforts with or without a disability.

PHYSICAL EFFORTS:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy work exerting around 100+ pounds.

Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces

Uses arms, legs and back muscles for extended periods of time

Uses hands to handle, feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms Ability to climb, stoop, kneel our crouch and to use hands and arms

Some tasks may require working off the top of a 30 ft. ladder.

May be regularly exposed to chemicals and/or hazardous materials.

Occasionally work outside in weather conditions.
