Housekeeping Team Lead First Shift

Manchester Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable, experienced, and hands-on Housekeeping Team Lead to oversee daily housekeeping and laundry operations.

The Team Lead is responsible for directing staff, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility, and ensuring resident clothing and facility linens are properly handled, cleaned, and distributed. Strong leadership, organization, and attention to detail are required.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and support housekeeping and laundry staff

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout assigned areas

  • Ensure resident rooms and common areas meet facility standards

  • Coordinate staffing, schedules, and daily assignments

  • Train and orient new housekeeping and laundry employees

  • Provide ongoing education and in-service training

  • Monitor staff performance and compliance with facility policies

  • Supervise the storage and distribution of cleaning and laundry supplies

  • Ensure proper handling of isolation linens and clothing

  • Oversee the washing, drying, and distribution of resident clothing

  • Ensure clean linens and towels are available on all nursing units

  • Follow OSHA, DPH, infection-control, and safety requirements

  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed to support the team

Qualifications
  • Previous housekeeping, laundry, or environmental-services experience required

  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred

  • High school diploma preferred

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of housekeeping, laundry, OSHA, and DPH standards preferred

  • Professional and respectful when working with residents, families, and staff

  • Compassion and understanding for the elderly

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment or supplies weighing more than 50 pounds

  • Ability to perform the physical duties of the position
