Job Summary
Assisting the grounds and facilities teams for organizing, cleaning, and maintaining all facilities and grounds within the park system, as well as some municipal buildings as designated by the City Administrator.
Duties & Responsibilities- Ensure general cleanliness and sanitation of the facilities outlined above, through primary responsibility of custodial duties.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors
- Dust and polish furniture and fixtures
- Shampoo, buff floor, and degrease as necessary
- Utilize snow shovels to remove snow or spread chemicals as necessary.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms
- Empty trash and recycling bins
- Restock supplies in restrooms and break rooms
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
- Respond to emergency cleaning requests.
- Follow and maintain a daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule.
- Respond to the needs of citizens and patrons when it comes to facility needs in a way that embodies excellent customer service.
- Perform set up for any scheduled rentals or events at the OC, including set up and tear down of table/chair set ups, placement of floor coverings, set up of large inflatables, and other athletic set up as required.
- Delivers custodial supplies for all facilities and grounds.
- Work with organizations and individuals who are using the facilities.
- Performs all duties in accordance with departmental safety procedures.
- Reads and applies all instructions and warnings for all equipment and products, including chemicals, equipment operations, and equipment maintenance.
- Perform minor maintenance projects as assigned such as painting, etc.
- Report on any maintenance issues or safety hazards as they are observed.
- Operate other equipment as assigned.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Attend seminars, workshops, and other training for professional development purposes.
- Works cooperatively with other various departments for the City of Ozark.
- Maintains proper care of facilities and grounds within the Park’s system, as well as other municipal buildings.
Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge:- Knowledge of standard maintenance and cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of basic verbal and written skills.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and standard English; basic math calculations.
- Knowledge of operations of various machinery.
- Ability to always deal effectively and professionally with the public.
- Ability to effectively and safely operate various machinery.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors.
- Ability to manage and organize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality for both written and verbal information.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of others.
Performs bending, sorting, and reaching to both ground level and overhead; lifts and carries up to seventy-five (75) pounds; pushes and pulls up to one hundred (100) lbs.; must be able to hold and grip objects; may be subject to sitting or standing for long periods of time; must possess manual dexterity necessary to effectively operate hand tools. Must be able to hear machinery sounding alarms.

Indoor and Outdoor working environment. May be subject to extreme weather conditions.

High School graduate or equivalent GED;
Must be 21 years of age. Must possess a valid Missouri Motor Vehicle operator’s license. Class E (CDL) Preferred
Subject to the City’s drug and alcohol prevention and abuse ordinances and Background Check.
May be subject to emergency call in or weekend standby duty.
