  • Monitor and maintain work order statuses. Prioritizing and responding to these issues in a timely manner is a key component of the job.
  • Complete projects as they arise including work in remodeling, light carpentry, general repairs, painting, tile work, lighting, refrigeration, etc.
  • Be aware of and ensure compliance with city, state and/or federal code.
  • Prep areas and apply interior paint, sanding, wallpaper application/repair as well as basic furniture and equipment repair.
  • Ensure guest rooms, restaurant, and public areas are maintained to company standard.
  • Communicate shift details to Manager and Front Office/Housekeeping based on work order completion and progress. Maintain continuous communication with Front Office during all shifts to ensure all complaints are addressed.
  • Have a thorough understanding of fire alarm procedures, emergency evacuation procedures and all safety related issues.
  • Maintain safe and clear exterior walking areas including landscaping, waste removal, and snow/ice management.
  • Ensure facilities buildings, work spaces, and company vehicles are clean, safe, and organized.
  • Use safe work practices daily. Report any unsafe areas to Director of Engineering.
  • Understand and assist in leading Fire Response and Emergency Evacuation Procedures.
  • Monitor productivity and delegate tasks to subordinate team members to ensure they remain efficient and productive during their shift.
  • Create an ongoing list of tasks and projects to issue out to subordinate team accordingly.
  • Work effectively with other maintenance personnel in a positive, professional manner. Lead by example with professionalism and high standards of guest services and quality of work.
  • Be proactive in finding maintenance issues throughout the hotels that have not been brought to our attention by the Guest Services team, Property Operations Manager, or General Managers. Participate in all preventative maintenance goals.
  • Work professionally with all third-party vendors and suppliers as a point of contact for maintenance work orders requiring outside assistance.
  • Maintain inventories of necessary paints, supplies and chemicals. Report needs to the Director of Engineering.
  • Play a lead role in Energy conservation.
  • As a leader, professionally handle guest complaints, problem-solve, follow up, and take accountability.
  • Assist Director of Engineering with additional assigned tasks and projects.
