Knowledge of the methods and practices of cleaning services in a large complex, health facility, or building. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Knowledge of quality standards for health, environment and safety. Ability to read and write and to prepare both written and oral reports. Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations). Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to express ideas clearly, both orally and in writing.

The work of an employee in trainee status in this position shall be overseen by a fully qualified individual. An employee in trainee status shall meet the minimum qualifications within the period of time specified on the SJD, not to exceed one year of being hired into this position.
ResponsibilitiesLeads and mentors individuals or crews and ensures that cleaning, shift details, and projects are completed on schedule in the area(s) of responsibility; inspects and reviews the work of team members to ensure quality and that health and safety standards are being followed. Recommends personnel actions or changes to standard operational procedures to supervisor.
Interacts with building or facility employees, residents, patients, or contractors. Investigates complaints about cleanliness, service, or equipment issues and takes corrective actions on‑site. Responds to immediate safety and/or maintenance concerns; refers escalated issues for resolution to supervisor.
Completes daily activity reports, logs, or notes as necessary. Inventories stock to ensure supplies and equipment are available in adequate amounts and orders or advises the supervisor of what is needed.
