OverviewBeyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Boilermaker Chief Craftsman, supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB Tennessee. The Chief Craftsman will be a member of an integrated team responsible for operating, maintaining and/or supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. Open to internal candidates only.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will, under general supervision, perform Safe, Reliable, and Effective Operations (SREO), as outlined in their current Journeyman, Lead, or Specialist job description. The selected employee will serve for two years, after which they will return to their previous Skill Set either in their existing crew or another location. If during the tenure the employee is not fulfilling responsibilities or the position does not provide a cost‑effective benefit, BNH reserves the right to remove, repost, or discontinue the position.
Job Duties- Serve as a Safety Advocate, sharing/seeking solutions from workers for safety and health concerns.
- Resolve issues at the lowest level and convey unresolvable issues to the appropriate Manager, Safety, Health and Environmental (SH&E) or Operation and Maintenance (O&M) for resolution.
- Be knowledgeable, willing, and able to perform all core tasks in current craft affiliation.
- Recognized Subject Matter Expert for craft and assist as needed with training and mentoring any Apprentice or Intern in skill set.
- Present presentations on safety topics, job skills, and other tasks assigned.
- Maintain and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per supervisory direction and company policy.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 15 years of verifiable experience in current craft.
- Ability to provide instructions to less senior craftsmen on safe and proper techniques, processes, and procedures.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area network.
- Reading, writing, and speaking English well enough to understand, give and take directions.
- Current U.S. citizenship required; no employer sponsorship for employment authorization.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
