Job Description:

Custodian

Responsible to:
Principal, Head Custodian

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Exhibits appropriate communication skills

Meets necessary health and physical requirements to fulfill the physical demands

Essential Responsibilities

Maintain all buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas, neat and clean at all times

Assist in maintaining an inventory of supplies, equipment, and fuel on hand

Regulate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity

Follow proper safety procedures to maintain the security of the building and grounds

Perform minor building repairs; report major repair needs promptly

Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash and waste

Know and follow all safety rules and proper procedures associated with the job of custodian

Participate in required annual safety training

Work in conjunction with district maintenance personnel to maintain building needs

Demonstrate positive customer service skills

General Requirements

Follows Federal and State laws and adopted policies and procedures in accordance with School Board priorities

Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest standards of public education and in support of the District's Vision/Mission statements

Maintains ethical standards, which include professionalism and the protection of confidential student and staff information

Other responsibilities and/or duties may be required and assigned
