Job Summary

Lead Environmental Services Technician assists managers with daily operational housekeeping activities and monitors cleanliness standards in a healthcare environment. He/she assists with direction of employee work schedules, supervises and allocates cleaning staff on daily tasks, such as cleaning patient/resident rooms, facilities, and disposing waste. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory stock to ensure supplies and equipment are available in adequate amounts, performing administrative tasks for ordering housekeeping supplies, checking and maintaining equipment, and monitoring the use of cleaning agents, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

The technician issues keys, clean linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment to cleaning staff.

The role ensures housekeeping processes comply with healthcare organization and regulatory codes. Depending on location and availability of programs, the technician may have access to internal applications.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work experience in environmental services is beneficial.
