Position: Maintenance Tech
Status: Full Time, Hourly
Schedule: Day & Night Positions Available
We are seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support our inpatient behavioral health hospital. This role is responsible for general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the facility and grounds, ensuring a safe, clean, and fully operational environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Position Summary
Performs routine and preventative maintenance throughout the hospital, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC support, repairs, painting, and general building upkeep. Assists with emergency system checks, fire drills, inspections, and special projects such as room setups and moving furniture. Maintains a safe environment in compliance with hospital safety and infection control standards.
Essential Functions
· Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, lighting, ceilings, and basic carpentry
· Assist with HVAC maintenance such as filter changes and basic system upkeep
· Conduct routine inspections of fire safety equipment and assist with fire drills and emergency testing
· Reset and support fire alarm system functions as needed
· Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and complete required documentation
· Support facility safety by following infection control and hazardous waste procedures
· Assist with room setups, furniture moves, and special facility projects
· Maintain tools and work areas in a safe and secure manner, especially in patient care areas
· Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
· Perform landscaping and exterior grounds upkeep as needed
· Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· General experience in maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or HVAC preferred
· Basic reading, writing, and math skills required
· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
· Strong communication and customer service skills
· This is a hands on role in a healthcare environment that requires flexibility, reliability, and a strong focus on safety and attention to detail.
