Maintenance - Rouquette III & IV

Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Maintenance I to join our team, specifically focused on working with seniors. Previous experience in maintenance is mandatory. The ideal candidate will maintain and enhance the value of the apartment community in a timely, professional and courteous manner.

Providence Community Housing is a 501(c)3 nonprofit affordable housing developer and property manager serving the Greater New Orleans area. With almost 20 years of development experience and over 1,700 residential units developed to date, Providence has taken over the property management functions of Christopher Homes, Inc. and is proud to add their 60-year history of excellence to our team managing over 2,400 senior affordable apartments.

We focus on the production and preservation of affordable housing and empowering strong communities.

A typical day in the life of a Maintenance I working with seniors involves overseeing both resident apartments and property maintenance needs. Every day brings new opportunities to make a positive impact on both residents and staff, creating a safe, welcoming environment for seniors to call home.

• Is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
• Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Is comfortable using computers and property management software
• Is reliable, adaptable, and ready to handle occasional on‑call responsibilities

This is a full‑time position, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional on‑call responsibilities for emergencies. While most of your workdays will be during regular business hours, there may be times when you’ll need to respond to urgent situations outside of these hours to ensure the safety and well‑being of our residents. Flexibility and responsiveness are key to this role.

This position requires the successful completion of drug and background testing as part of the hiring process. The drug test does not screen for marijuana.
