Facilities Technician
We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Facilities Technician to support the maintenance, repair, and overall operational readiness of multiple bank branch locations. This position is responsible for performing a variety of preventative and corrective maintenance activities to ensure facilities remain safe and functional for our staff and customers.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with experience in general building maintenance, including basic electrical, plumbing, structural repairs, and safety systems. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize work independently while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on doors, locks, flooring, ceiling tiles, fixtures, and other building components.
- Complete basic drywall repairs, painting, and minor carpentry work.
- Perform light plumbing repairs and basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting building systems and equipment.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to promote the longevity and reliability of facility assets.
- Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and emergency situations.
- Prioritize and manage work orders using the maintenance management system in coordination with the Facilities Manager.
- Ensure timely and effective completion of service requests while minimizing repeat maintenance issues.
- Provide exceptional service to employees, customers, and vendors while representing the organization in a professional manner.
- Maintain tools, supplies, and critical repair inventory.
- Identify and communicate facility hazards, safety concerns, and major repair needs.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and facility operating procedures.
- Support initiatives that promote a safe and secure environment across all branch locations.
- Participate in preventative maintenance programs to maximize building efficiency and reliability.
- Exercise independent judgment when prioritizing maintenance activities and responding to urgent issues.
- Effectively manage competing priorities and changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel to branch locations approximately 50% of the time.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One to three years of experience in general building maintenance, facilities maintenance, handyman services, or a skilled trade preferred.
- Experience working in commercial, banking, retail, or multi-site environments is a plus.
- Working knowledge of building maintenance practices, including basic electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, and carpentry repairs.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and respond effectively to urgent maintenance issues.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure while managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, climb, push, pull, reach, and stand or walk for extended periods.
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment
