Title:

Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.

Under direct supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, the Custodian (Part‑Time) provides light maintenance, cleaning and other custodial services. The Custodian will keep assigned buildings and properties in a clean and orderly condition, and perform minor maintenance work as required. This position is a year‑round position.

• Vacuum carpets and rugs.
• Wash and dry cleaning clothes, rags and mop heads.
• Sweep, mop, buff, and scrub floors.
• Dust, wax, wash, and polish furniture and woodwork.
• Safely empty and clean waste receptacles, monitor the compactor.
• Clean bathrooms daily and when necessary.
• Wash windows and walls safely.
• Polish metal work.
• Tend surrounding walks and grounds when necessary.
• Perform minor repairs.
• Water and maintain plants.
• Safely move furniture and load or unload freight.
• Safely move tables and chairs as needed and set up for meetings.
• Clean storage areas.
• Perform physical/mental demands of the work environment requirements.
• Attendance during regularly scheduled work hours.
• Effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and citizen customers.
• Employee required to use personal vehicle to drive to other sites as needed.
• Provide oversight to contract custodial personnel.

• Performs physical and mental demands and work environment requirements for this position.
• Attendance during regularly scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary.
• Effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and community customers.

• Must possess high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive in the state of Minnesota.
• Must successfully complete a background check.
• Must comply with organizational and departmental policies.

Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
