Job Description
This position exists to provide a clean, comfortable and safe environment for the staff, faculty, students, and guests of Minnesota State University, Mankato. This position has been designated as weather and emergency essential. In the event of a University closure or emergency event,incumbent is required to report to work and respond as requested. Minimum Qualifications
- Different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment.
- Chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s),handle and apply, and dispose of safely.
- Methods, tools and equipment used in maintenance sufficient touse effectively and operate safely and to make minor repairs.
Ability to:
- Follow simple oral and written instructions.
- Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.
- Keep simple records.
Additional:

- Prior to the date of appointment, this position requires acriminal background check conducted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).
Preferred Qualification

- Knowledge of the proper use of MSDS sheets, Right-to-Know regulations/Global Harmonization Standards (GHS), OSHA, Blood-borne
Pathogen Standards, the proper use of Personal Protection Equipment(PPE), along with other safety practices required by local, stateand federal regulations. - Ability to work different shifts and flexibility to work overtime when needed.
