Welder

Position: Welder $34.69 to $37.57
** IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:*
* + Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques and equipment

+ Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine correct welding processes

+ Inspect completed welds to ensure structural soundness and quality

+ Set up and prepare components for welding according to specifications

+ Operate angle grinders and other tools to prepare parts for welding

+ Align components using calipers, rulers, and measuring tools; clamp pieces securely

+ Perform welding in various positions (vertical, horizontal, and overhead) using manual or semi-automatic equipment

+ Repair machinery and components by welding parts and filling gaps

+ Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify defects or inconsistencies

+ Maintain welding equipment and work areas in a condition that meets all safety standards

+ Successfully pass Welder Qualification examinations in accordance with ASME B&PV Code Sec. IX

** WHO YOU ARE:*
* You are an experienced professional who takes pride and satisfaction from executing in a safe manner and producing quality work.

** FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:*
* + Minimum of 5 years of welding experience

+  GED or high school diploma required

+ Required welding experience includes:

+ Welding carbon and stainless steel using SMAW (Stick) and GTAW (TIG) processes

+ Full penetration pipe welding, including standard and dissimilar materials

+ GTAW Hardface overlay with Stellite or similar materials

+ Casting repair welding

+ Ability to read and interpret weld symbols, technical documents, blueprints, and drawings

+ Candidates must be willing to demonstrate welding ability prior to employment

** PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:*
* + Preferred welding experience includes:

+ Dissimilar metals in common joint configurations

+ Thin-wall materials (e.g., bellows assemblies)

+ CuNi and other non-ferrous valve materials using SMAW and GTAW

+ Professional certification preferred (e.g., AWS welding certification)

We pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. The total target comp range for this position is  **$34.69 to $37.57 hourly.*
