About the Role:

The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing plant equipment and facilities. This position is responsible for developing and implementing maintenance strategies, including predictive and preventive maintenance programs, to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery and infrastructure. The Maintenance Manager leads a team of technicians and coordinates with production and engineering departments to align maintenance activities with operational goals.

They oversee the maintenance of electrical systems, boilers, and other critical plant equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Ultimately, this role drives operational excellence by optimizing maintenance processes and supporting lean manufacturing principles to enhance overall plant productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance techniques and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, boilers, and plant maintenance operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing maintenance teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Maintenance Management or Reliability Engineering (e.g., CMRP).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards related to manufacturing facilities.
  • Advanced training or certification in boiler operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive maintenance programs including predictive and preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and downtime.
  • Lead, train, and supervise maintenance staff to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize disruption and maximize equipment availability.
  • Manage facility maintenance tasks, including electrical systems and boiler upkeep, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Analyze maintenance data and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Oversee budgeting, procurement, and inventory management for maintenance supplies and spare parts.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support plant upgrades, modifications, and new equipment installations.

The Maintenance Manager utilizes maintenance management skills daily to plan and execute maintenance schedules that ensure plant reliability and safety. Predictive and preventive maintenance expertise allows the manager to anticipate equipment issues before they cause downtime, improving operational efficiency.
