under the specific guidelines of the supervisor, operates safely and efficiently all types of equipment and performs routine maintenance on city parks and property. Performs related duties as required.

experience in heavy manual labor and in the operation of automotive/agricultural equipment; completion of one‑year semi‑skilled maintenance and repair experience. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures, basic building and grounds maintenance methods.

• vehicle maintenance and repair.
• operation of motor and power equipment under all types of weather conditions.
• follow detailed but basic instructions.
• perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment.
• perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time under often adverse weather conditions.
• recognize safety warnings.
• proof of high school graduation or equivalent.
• valid ohio driver's license.

• performs a variety of heavy manual work and operates a variety of non‑commercial motor vehicles and equipment related to the functions of the department; performs snow plowing and snow removal.
• completes basic equipment operation training. Handles, cleans and stores all tools safely and properly.
• performs manual labor, duties related to construction and development of park projects as assigned.
• performs all aspects of park maintenance and grounds keeping. Operation includes but is not limited to: zero‑turn and push mowers, line trimmers, blowers, chain saws, stand‑on skid loaders with attachments (i.e., bucket, auger, etc.) and miscellaneous hand and power tools.
• cleans park facilities and vehicles; performs custodial work including cleaning restrooms, park shelters, and litter pick up.
