The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the assisting with the safety and operational integrity of GCC and properties, buildings and vehicle fleet.
Essential Job Functions- Complete maintenance and repair requests daily as requested by staff
- Assure through regular inspections that maintenance procedures are consistently meeting health and safety standards
- Assure through regular inspections that the facilities are operationally and structurally sound
- Participate as requested on the environment of care, osha committees
- Maintain facility grounds per regular schedule to assure an attractive and welcoming appearance
- Assist with running and maintaining computer cables, phone wires, and electrical connections
- Participate in meetings and attend trainings as required and requested.
- Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of West Care Foundation; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Certifications/Licensures:
- None
- High school diploma or equivalence issue by a state department of education, is required.
Competencies:
- Minimum of three years in maintenance, construction, or other related field.
- CPR Certification, First Aid Certification
- Knowledge of equipment, appliances and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. See more occupations related to this skill.
- Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
- ability to find balance in daily situations requiring critical thinking and seeing the larger picture
- ability to compile and analyze data and draw appropriate conclusions and apply analytical skills to complex situations.

Physical Demands- Requires mobility and physical activity:
Having an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in an office, residential, or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, frequent heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds. Use of computer and telephone systems is required which includes coordination of eye and hand, and fine manipulation by the hands (typing, writing, and working with files).
