Job Description
We are hiring for a part‑time or full‑time Facilities Maintenance Technician Position to begin work immediately until the end of the current school year.
Candidate Attributes- Someone who possesses a strong will to complete all tasks assigned in a timely, professional manner. We need an independent thinker with strong problem‑solving skills and excellent communication skills.
- Must be a dependable self‑starter who can work well with other people.
- Skilled in the use of power and hand tools.
- Experience in one or more trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, etc.) is ideal but not required.
- Strives to consistently exhibit love, joy, peace, and spiritual maturity in their daily work and relationships with others in the school.
- Daily duties include, but are not limited to, checking work orders, maintaining school facilities, trash removal, light grounds upkeep, and set up/break down for special events.
- Perform preventive maintenance and general repairs to building interior and exterior spaces. Request materials as needed for repairs and provide status updates.
- Advise when a vendor is required for jobs outside technician's scope and/or monitor vendors for the purpose of completing repairs when needed.
- Perform safety and security inspections of playgrounds, outdoor structures, and school vehicles. Alert facilities team to issues that are found and coordinate repairs.
- $18 - $20 per hour
- Hours are from 7:45am to 3:30pm (approximately) Monday through Friday
The ideal candidate will have a trustworthy character and relevant experience/skills. It is expected that the staff member will comply with all applicable policies of The Stonehaven School and with all administrative directives.
