Qualifications:
Education:
High School graduate or GED preferred.
Experience:
Five (5) years' experience of work duties in related field. Prefer one or more years of custodial supervisory experience.
Essential Functions:
Supervising contracted custodial staff and carrying out assignments directed by the Maintenance/Environmental Services Supervisor or request from school principal in regards to providing a clean and healthy environment in the areas of housekeeping and grounds in the school to which he/she is assigned.
Major Responsibilities:
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions given by others within the district.
- Ability to perform duties that may require heavy lifting of objects.
- Demonstrated ability to train other custodians on the use of equipment or proper cleaning procedures.
- Basic computer skills required for email communication.
- Subject to fumes from cleaning chemicals in solutions, aerosols and powder forms.
- Exposure to sharp objects and vibrating equipment.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry instructional materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Dexterity to write on a board, operate a computer, and use other classroom technology.
- Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Clear speech and hearing abilities for effective communication.
- Visual acuity to read printed and digital materials.
