Custodian, Head I (457A)

Primary Function:
Supervises, under the principal’s direction, the total custodial program of the school assigned.

- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
- Assigns duties, supervises and assists in the total custodial program of the school.
- Reports problem areas to Head Custodian II.
- Provides periodic 24-hour, 7‑day on‑call support.
- Oversees proper use and storage of all equipment and supplies.
- Performs minor maintenance as needed.
- Maintains an understanding of custodial procedures and equipment.
- Secures building as directed.
- Cleans entire building regardless of ceiling height, including dining areas.
- Changes light bulbs in ceilings up to 10 feet in height.
- Assumes Head Custodian II duties as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate designee.

- Certification/License
Required:
None. - Experience:
Minimum one‑year CCSD custodial experience or minimum three years custodial experience outside CCSD. - Physical
Activities:
Routine physical activities such as walking, standing, kneeling, negotiating stairs and ladders, and lifting and transporting 75 pounds over short distances. - Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Written and oral communication; leadership, cleaning, operation of cleaning equipment.
