About the Role
The Machine Cleaner is responsible for the thorough dry cleaning and precise dust control of production machinery and surrounding areas. This role is critical to maintaining high safety standards and equipment reliability by systematically removing fine tea dust, debris, and product build‑up using approved dry methods.
Responsibilities- Dry dust removal:
Execute daily and scheduled dry cleaning procedures using industrial vacuum systems. - Scheduled cleaning:
Perform deep cleaning tasks, including minor disassembly and reassembly of non‑technical components (e.g., removable guards, shields, conveyors, chutes) for internal dust removal. - Contaminant removal:
Safely remove and dispose of loose tea dust, product remnants, scrap, and debris, ensuring containment. - Tool management:
Maintain specialized dry‑cleaning tools, brushes, and vacuum systems in operational condition. - Cleanliness audit:
Ensure assigned areas meet internal cleanliness standards for dust control and fire prevention. - Damage reporting:
Inspect equipment and report any signs of damage, wear, fluid leaks, or abnormalities to the Maintenance Supervisor. - Waste management:
Organize and manage machine‑generated solid waste streams (e.g., recyclable metal, scrap, discarded tea) for proper disposal. - Cleaning logs:
Complete and sign off on scheduled dry‑cleaning checklists and logs upon completion. - Safety compliance:
Adhere to all LOTO, dust control, and regulatory standards; use required PPE and follow the tea dust protocol.
- High School diploma or GED.
- 1+ year of experience in an industrial cleaning or maintenance support role, preferably in a dry process manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and cleaning checklists.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for simple disassembly and reassembly.
- Must successfully complete site‑specific LOTO, fire safety, and dust control training.
- Comfortable standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs for 8–12 hours a day; tolerance to noise, heat, and humidity.
Position:
Full‑time, permanent. Shift: Third (3rd) shift, Monday through Friday with some Saturdays. Pay: $16.80 to $21.90 per hour plus $0.60 per hour shift differential. Overtime may be available as needed.
