The Lighting Technician maintains and repairs lighting equipment and systems, and is part of our Maintenance department. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair lighting equipment and systems.
  • Investigate lighting problems, determine operational status, and restore system operation.
  • Perform repairs to lighting distribution panels, breakers, fuse panels, switches, interior and exterior fixtures, and ballasts.
  • Perform maintenance of lighting systems in accordance with schedules and standards.
  • Use appropriate tools and instruments for repair, testing, and modification.
  • Read, interpret, and use electrical blueprints, specifications, manuals, catalogs, and technical literature.
  • Order and receive materials.
  • Supervise and coordinate student workers.
  • Prepare and maintain logs and records for lighting equipment and systems.
  • Keep equipment locations and shop areas clean and orderly.

    Skills and Abilities

    A high school diploma is required.

    Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    Three years of maintenance experience in lighting systems or maintenance is required.

    Preferred Knowledge,

    Skills and Abilities

    Certification in electrical maintenance from a technical school is desired.
