The Lighting Technician maintains and repairs lighting equipment and systems, and is part of our Maintenance department. Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain and repair lighting equipment and systems.

Investigate lighting problems, determine operational status, and restore system operation.

Perform repairs to lighting distribution panels, breakers, fuse panels, switches, interior and exterior fixtures, and ballasts.

Perform maintenance of lighting systems in accordance with schedules and standards.

Use appropriate tools and instruments for repair, testing, and modification.

Read, interpret, and use electrical blueprints, specifications, manuals, catalogs, and technical literature.

Order and receive materials.

Supervise and coordinate student workers.

Prepare and maintain logs and records for lighting equipment and systems.

Keep equipment locations and shop areas clean and orderly.

Required Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

A high school diploma is required.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Three years of maintenance experience in lighting systems or maintenance is required.

Preferred Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Certification in electrical maintenance from a technical school is desired.
