Housekeeper - Laundry

Responsibilities include:

Assures completion of all housekeeping and laundry tasks. Provides a safe and clean environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

• Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality and a home-like environment for Residents.
• Monitors inventory of chemicals, supplies and equipment needed for laundry and housekeeping tasks.
• Communicates chemical, supply and equipment needs to supervisor.
• Maintains required records; notifies the Supervisor or Maintenance Director on observed maintenance issues and/or repairs needed.
• Implements cleaning schedules of residents' apartments, laundry, kitchen, and common areas to assure completion of housekeeping tasks.
• Perform routine and periodic deep cleaning to all assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures according to cleaning schedule
• Sweep, mop and vacuum all assigned areas including, but not limited to resident apartments, restrooms, utility rooms, common areas, nursing station, medication rooms (under nursing supervision) and dining room and kitchen areas of resident apartments
• Clean countertops in restrooms and kitchen areas of residents' apartments
• Defrost refrigerators in resident apartments on a regular basis
• Dust all furniture, baseboards, window blinds and around entryway, as well as keep ceiling free of cobwebs
• Remove bed linens (excluding bedspreads, quilts, etc.), launder, and replace with fresh linens. Bed linens should be washed, dried, folded and returned to the resident's apartment

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of equipment, supplies and chemicals used for housekeeping and laundry tasks. Experience in working in
• a licensed care setting preferred.
• Maintains acceptable attendance record/follows work schedule.
• Organizes and utilizes time appropriately toward accomplishing assigned tasks; requires minimal supervision.
• Displays cleanliness, good grooming, and personal appearance and follows dress requirements.
• Displays ability/willingness to learn new skills and to teach others.
