Dock Associate - Help Us Serve the Community! About the Role

As a Dock Associate at VOAMI, you'll be the backbone of our donation and warehouse operations. Your work ensures that donated items are processed efficiently and safely, helping us generate revenue that funds critical programs for individuals in need. Every item you handle helps someone in your community live a better life.

• Dock Operations:
  • Safely unload and load trucks
  • Inspect, clean, and prepare donated furniture and appliances for sale
  • Apply pricing and move items to the sales floor
  • Assist customers with unloading donations and loading purchases
  • Write donor receipts and maintain simple records
• General Warehouse Support:
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal and salting affected areas
• Additional Responsibilities:
  • Follow VOAMI policies and procedures
  • Complete tasks promptly to ensure efficient store operations
  • Other duties as assigned

• Ability to safely move heavy, fragile, or cumbersome items (50 lbs or more)
• Knowledge of safe equipment usage (carts, lift gates, compactor)
• Ability to read lists and write accurate donation receipts
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn store policies
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy items
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions
• Ability to interact professionally with a diverse public
